Kenton Garden Services started in 1984 when Ray Pitout started offering garden services to the local community. 9 years later on 1 July 1993 Roy & Adie Wilkins bought the business with Ray (known as Mr Fix It) still looking after machine maintenance until the age of 91! 

At the time KGS had 7 staff members servicing ± 200 gardens. We then bought Ervin Tilly in 2002 and Home & Garden Services in 2014, adding 250 gardens to our customer base. 

Ivor Rule started as manager in the field in 1999 and Cindy Croucamp joined in 2006 as office assistant. Tina Viljoen joined in 2015 and Barry Smith in 2014 as supervisor in the field. Kenton Garden Services is known for lawn mowing and garden services, but we started doing house painting in 1997. After our main painter sadly passed away in 2003 we paused the painting side of the business. But it is something we’ve been good at so we’re proudly offering it to our clients once again. Ivor started erecting wood and wire fencing in 2001 with great success. Our fences can be seen all across the residential areas we operate in.

We are very proud of the KGS team with over 40% of permanent staff being at the company for between 6 to 25 years!

Gareth Benson, the current owner, bought the business from Roy on 1 October 2016. We’ve grown from strength to strength over the years and are pleased to serve our customers with outstanding service.
